Welcome to the Future!

Behind these walls lies more than 60 years of BZBI History.

Kiddushes, brises, baby namings, b’nai mitzvot, weddings, and community dinners, were all prepared and served from this, in its own way, sacred space. Many happy memories were created here when members worked together and then became friends for life.

However, time had taken its toll. Windows were broken, paint was peeling, drawers were stuck, pipes were clogged, safety was a growing concern and time and technology has changed the way the kitchen was used.

We have boldly embarked on a project to not just freshen but fully renovate and turn the Kitchen into a Culinary Center. In this new space technology will be used to stream in cooking classes from chefs around the world, as well as beam them out to BZBI members and friends.

The Culinary Center will house a kosher cookbook library, both physical and on-line, so you can share your favorite meals. It will be an enhanced, open space allowing more people to gather and create new memories. Modern equipment will make cooking and clean-up easier. Beautiful new stained glass windows designed by BZBI member Deena Flanagan will enhance the space and the experience. And it will stand as a living tribute to Mr. Gregory who believed the kitchen was the heart and soul of our community.
